Avengers Assemble

Here's the latest Avengers commission. The client wanted Alex Ross Kingdom Come type style ... which is a bigger pain in the patooka than you'd think. That's just a ridiculous amount of characters. Ross has got to be certifiable. George Perez too. I don't know how they do it, but man, they are definitely nuts.

Freshly Roasted Venom

Here's a great piece just because it gave me a chance to draw Venom. I was particularly interested in recreating the Venom into something lively and pulsing to make it more than just a black pair of pajamas. Hopefully you dig my take on it.

Gambit cometh

Surprisingly the most requested commission at the Heroes Convention this year was Gambit. For a while there I thought there was a Gambit movie coming out or something. I wasn't even sure if Gambit was an active member of the XMen anymore. But hopefully this'll be just as popular next year.

Superman Wonder Woman Love

Here's a new commission that is a homage to the classic John Byrne Action Comics annual cover.

What to do after beating a Sentinel

Apparently, Rogue and Gambit get kinda hot after fighting a Sentinel. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

This was a commission that I finished actually a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to contact the buyer yet and let him know. I actually ran into him at the Heroes Con last year but it wasn't ready then. God I'm slow. Too many life things going on. Still got another dozen to go. I'm working it tho!

Batman and Robin kick some ***

Here's my latest piece after the nice long break. I took a month off after having a blast being neck deep with actual comic work (all Gen 13 baby). I have to say Ben Abernathy is absolutely the best editor I have ever worked with (Phil Amara is a very close second - sorry Phil). This is a big thank you to Ben and I'll be sending it off shortly. I hope he digs it. I went through a lot of drafts to make a cool lookin Batman, and when I say a lot, I burned through I think about 8 boards. Batman is such an iconic character I really wanted to avoid the characteristic poses that everyone's done a million times. But then there have been so many talented artists that have put their mark on Batman, that trying to come up with something truly original was like trying to reinvent the wheel. So I thought of the coolest thing I could think of Batman doing and do my take on it. Hopefully, it came out great.

Now I have only 20 more commissions to go...
woo hoo...
