Batman makes TwoFace eat one of his faces
Batman putting the smackdown on Two Face and his goons. Third piece in as many days and I'm a little burnt. So last Bats for a bit (unless DC hires me to draw him of course) :)

Batman doing some swingin'
Another Batman piece... actually, it's a revamp of a previous Batman commission I drew about two years ago. Is it an improvement?

Batman and a can of whoopass
Another commission piece for the Heroes Con 2010 in Charlotte, NC next weekend. I did this piece thinking of Batman but with no real idea as to what he'd be doing. Originally I was thinking of the Dark Knight Returns Batman laying down some whoopass on that ass of a Superman. But it kinda just took a life of it's own. So now it looks like he's just going to put a beat down on some poor suspecting baddies.

Darkest Night

It's been a long time since I've been inspired by any particular artist to this degree. The last time that happened - it was Uncanny Xmen Jim Lee... not the one after that with his kabillion hatch marks. The one that actually used blacks. To a lesser degree, Alan Davis, old school John Byrne, Adam Hughes, and Joe Mad. If I actually spent 12 hours a day drawing and practicing, the way Ivan Reis draws is the way I would draw. He sees things exactly the way I do. He's spankarific...!

The Big Three

Another piece for Heroes 09. It started out as a Batman piece, but then I thought I'd do another hero but one that I've never drawn - Hellboy... and then for some reason, I thought it was too moody and serious and added Spidey to lighten em up some. It's interesting.

Fantastic Four

My first attempt at the FF. A piece I did for the Heroes Con 09. The Thing is a real pain in the patooka. If there's an easy way to draw him, I don't know it.

Avengers Assemble
Here's the latest Avengers commission. The client wanted Alex Ross Kingdom Come type style ... which is a bigger pain in the patooka than you'd think. That's just a ridiculous amount of characters. Ross has got to be certifiable. George Perez too. I don't know how they do it, but man, they are definitely nuts.

Freshly Roasted Venom

Here's a great piece just because it gave me a chance to draw Venom. I was particularly interested in recreating the Venom into something lively and pulsing to make it more than just a black pair of pajamas. Hopefully you dig my take on it.

What to do after beating a Sentinel
Apparently, Rogue and Gambit get kinda hot after fighting a Sentinel. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess. This was a commission that I finished actually a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to contact the buyer yet and let him know. I actually ran into him at the Heroes Con last year but it wasn't ready then. God I'm slow. Too many life things going on. Still got another dozen to go. I'm working it tho!

Batman and Robin kick some ***
Here's my latest piece after the nice long break. I took a month off after having a blast being neck deep with actual comic work (all Gen 13 baby). I have to say Ben Abernathy is absolutely the best editor I have ever worked with (Phil Amara is a very close second - sorry Phil). This is a big thank you to Ben and I'll be sending it off shortly. I hope he digs it. I went through a lot of drafts to make a cool lookin Batman, and when I say a lot, I burned through I think about 8 boards. Batman is such an iconic character I really wanted to avoid the characteristic poses that everyone's done a million times. But then there have been so many talented artists that have put their mark on Batman, that trying to come up with something truly original was like trying to reinvent the wheel. So I thought of the coolest thing I could think of Batman doing and do my take on it. Hopefully, it came out great. Now I have only 20 more commissions to go...
woo hoo...

The post that got kaboshed
Well, I just finished a commission piece - for a publisher actually, except I just found out that it's something that I can't post ... or talk about ... or discuss... so... nevermind. sigh.
